Eta Carinae over ALMA

The night sky over ALMA, the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array — a huge new facility at 5000 metres above sea level on the Chajnantor Plateau, dedicated to studying the cool Universe. Captured in this UHD time-lapse.

The Eta Carinae Nebula, a bright emission nebula, gives off a fiery red glow above one of the antennas. Captured during the ESO Ultra HD Expedition.
