Deneb observed with the VLT Adaptive Optics Prototype System
Deneb observed with the VLT Adaptive Optics Prototype System. The picture shows the dramatic improvement of the infrared image of the star Alpha Cygni (Deneb), by means of the VLT Adaptive Optics Prototype System. The images were photographed directly from the monitor screen during the observations at the coudé focus of the 1.52 m telescope at the Observatoire de Haute Provence (France). These images were obtained through a K-filter (wavelength 2.2 m). Each image was exposed during 50 seconds.
