The L1688 region in visible light
This image shows the environment around the L1688 star-forming region in visible light. This area, located in the Ophiuchus constellation, features prominent dark lanes and glowing nebulae. This image was taken from ESO’s Paranal Observatory with a 10-cm Takahashi FSQ106Ed f/3.6 telescope and a SBIG STL CCD camera, as part of the Gigagalaxy Zoom project.
