The star cluster NGC 3572 in the constellation of Carina
This chart shows the location of the star cluster NGC 3572 in the constellation of Carina (The Ship’s Keel). This map shows most of the stars visible to the unaided eye under good conditions, and the location of the cluster and its associated glowing gas clouds is highlighted with a red circle on the image. The cluster is easily seen in a small telescope, but the gas clouds are much more elusive.
