Peeking inside a UT
Its enclosure opens to reveal the structure and secondary mirror of one of the four 8.2-metre Unit Telescopes (UT) that comprise ESO's Very Large Telescope (VLT). Located at Paranal Observatory in northern Chile, the VLT is the flagship facility for European ground-based astronomy.
