The Aquarius simulation

This rendering of the Aquarius simulation was kindly created and made available by Volker Springel for the planetarium show "Time Travel - From The Big Bang To Mankind", created at Münster planetarium in cooperation with the planetariums at Ausgburg, Berlin, Bochum, Jena, Kiel, Mannheim, Nürnberg, Osnabrück, and Wolfsburg.

The renderings shows the evolution of a dark matter galactic halo similar to that of our Milky Way, from the early cosmos (z = 50) until today (z = 0).
