Chief Scientific Adviser to the European Commission, Anne Glover, visits ESO’s Paranal Observatory

On 16 March 2013, the Chief Scientific Adviser to the European Commission, Prof. Anne Glover, visited ESO’s Paranal Observatory. Upon arriving, she was welcomed by ESO’s Director General, Prof. Tim de Zeeuw.

Anne Glover, Chief Scientific Adviser to the European Commission (left), is being shown the operations of VISTA ― the Visible and Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy — by telescope operator Andŕes Parraguez. Anne Glover was particularly interested in VISTA as much of its development was led by the UK Astronomy Technology Centre (UKATC) in her native Scotland.
