Panning across the field of NGC 4666

This video gives us a closer look at the interesting field around the galaxy NGC 4666, imaged with the Wide Field Imager on the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at the La Silla Observatory in Chile. We start looking deeply into the Universe at the faint flecks of very distant galaxies, some of which are in a cluster emitting X-rays. We then sweep across the disturbed star-forming galaxy NGC 4668 and finally close in on the starburst spiral galaxy NGC 4666 at the centre of the picture.
