An echo of light (annotated)
This image of the intriguing ShaSS 622-073 system shows a light echo — the first ever to be observed between two galaxies — in great detail (highlighted with a yellow circle). The light echo is a delicate reminder of the one-time glory of the galaxy ShaSS 073, which has dramatically reduced in luminosity over the last 30 000 years.
