Artist impression of the E-ELT dome
Artist's impression of the European Extremely Large Telescope (E-ELT) on its future location atop Cerro Armazones, in the Chilean Andes. The E-ELT, with a primary mirror of 39 metres will be the largest optical/infrared telescope in the world — the world's biggest eye on the sky.
The design for the E-ELT shown here was published in 2013 and is preliminary.
