Prince Philippe of Belgium visits ESO’s Paranal Observatory
His Royal Highness Prince Philippe, Duke of Brabant, Crown Prince of Belgium during a visit to ESO’s Paranal Observatory in northern Chile. Prince Philippe is in the dome of UT1, one of the four 8.2-metre Unit Telescopes of ESO’s Very Large Telescope. The huge rotator mechanism in the background was built by the Belgian firm AMOS.
