Cold cartridge assembly of an ALMA Band 2 receiver

This image, courtesy of the NOVA sub-mm instrumentation group, shows the cold cartridge assembly for one of the ALMA Band 2 receivers. This component of the receiver operates at cryogenic temperature, while the warm cartridge assembly is at room temperature. Band 2 receivers pick up signals from the Universe with frequencies between 67 and 116 GHz.
