ESO Council members and ESO staff stand next to the ELT time capsule plaque
Several ESO staff and Council members participated in a ceremony to install a commemorative plaque where a time capsule was buried on the concrete of the dome of ESO’s Extremely Large Telescope. The ceremony took place on 15 October 2023 atop Cerro Armazones in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
