Size comparison of the ELT and Big Ben
This artist's impression shows ESO's Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), currently under construction in the Atacama Desert in northern Chile, next to Big Ben in London, United Kingdom. The ELT's dome will reach about 80 metres in height, making it only about 16 metres shorter than Big Ben.
