Raise of the faint stars

What looks like the Sun is indeed the Moon, which is setting behind the mountains of the Atacama Desert. As soon as the bright sphere of the Moon disappears, the faint stars become visible on the sky. A reason why astronomers prefer observations in moonless nights.
