ESO staff and guests on Cerro Armazones
ESO staff and distinguished guests visited Cerro Armazones, future home of the Extremely Large Telescope, in unusually poor weather conditions, on the day of the First Stone Ceremony, 26 May 2017. Among the people shown are Xavier Barcons, Director General Designate (front, fourth from right), Harry van der Laan, former ESO Director General, Michele Cirasuolo, ELT Programme Scientist and Italy’s Minister of Education, Universities and Research, H.E. Stefania Giannini.
