Wide-field view of the sky around the brown dwarf binary CFBDSIR 1458+10

This visible light wide-field image of the region around the brown dwarf binary CFBDSIR 1458+10 was created from photographs taken through red and blue filters and forming part of the Digitized Sky Survey 2. The very cool brown dwarf double lies at the centre of the picture, but is too faint in visible light to be seen. The field of view is approximately 2.8 degrees across.
