Messier 78: a reflection nebula in Orion

This chart shows the location of Messier 78 in the famous constellation of Orion (The Hunter). This map shows most of the stars visible to the unaided eye under good conditions, and Messier 78 itself is highlighted with a red circle on the image. This reflection nebula is quite bright and can be seen well in moderate-sized amateur telescopes.
